🚀 Senior Backend Developer | Prague | Ostrava

At profiq, we’re looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join the project team and help own the backend architecture, scalable services, and integration layer of the platform. You’ll work closely with engineering teams to keep the platform reliable, secure, observable, and easy to release.

💻 What will you do?

• Design and develop a backend platform using Java 21, Quarkus, and microservice architecture
• Build scalable APIs with GraphQL, REST, and gRPC
• Work with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, DynamoDB, and messaging via AWS/NATS
• Handle security and identity management using Keycloak, OIDC, OAuth2, and JWT
• Collaborate on AI integrations with OpenAI and Amazon Bedrock
• Influence the technical direction, conduct code reviews, and mentor colleagues

🛠 What do we expect from you?

• 8+ years of experience in backend development with Java
• Hands-on experience with frameworks such as Quarkus, Spring Boot, or similar technologies
• Experience designing scalable APIs and microservice architectures
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL and ORM technologies such as Hibernate/JPA
• Understanding of auth/identity management and event-driven systems
• Experience with messaging platforms such as Kafka, NATS, RabbitMQ, or SQS
• Technical leadership: architecture, code reviews, mentoring, and engineering best practices
• English for daily communication in an international team

💡 Nice to have

• Experience with AWS and cloud-native environments
• Hands-on experience with GraphQL, gRPC, and modern integration patterns
• Knowledge of MongoDB, Redis, or other NoSQL technologies
• Experience with AI/LLM integrations, such as OpenAI, Bedrock, or LangChain4j
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, observability, and running production systems
• Motivation to find elegant technical solutions and move both the product and the team forward
